Clifton Villa Veterinary Surgery has acheived tier 2 accreditation with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
There are ten Veterinary Surgeons that practice at Clifton Villa Veterinary Surgery throughout the five sites. Three directors Andrew Parker, Jane Parker and Paul Colam-Ainsworth. Andrew & Jane set up the practice at Truro in 1984 and Paul Ainsworth joined the partnership in 1989. Sam Pawson, Clinical Director has been with the surgery for five years and has a specialist interest in orthopaedics and general surgery. Steve Philp has been at the Newquay surgery for 3 years and has a special interest in exotics. Pam Hawke joined us in July 2007 followed by Jelena Pearce, Naomi Creedy, James Partridge and Alice Pascall. All veterinary surgeons share the veterinary care of a full range of animals including companion, exotics, farm and equine.
We have seventeen Veterinary Nurses at the practice consisting of seven qualified and ten students. As a training practice our nurses are trained to a high standard in order for them to pass the rigorous Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Veterinary Nursing national examinations. Upon qualifying our nurses may legally take responsibility for many aspects of inpatient and client care and become an essential part of the veterinary team. They play an active role in assisting the veterinary surgeons and also run a variety of nurse clinics.
Our thirteen non-clinical colleagues provide administrative support to the vets and nurses across each of the practices. The support team cover a wide range of duties, including finance and accounts, booster reminders, production of newsletters, reception duties, personnel, and health and safety.
The team is complimented with the provision of a Practice Manager - Carole Martin. Carole joined the practice in 1984 and changed her role from Head Nurse to Practice Manager in July 2008. Carole oversees the running and organisation of the practice.
